John A. Koppi and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Koppi, lived at 2650 Bryant avenue N. Pfc. Koppi was a graduate of De La Salle High School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He formerly was employed by Durkee-Atwood Co., Minneapolis, Minnesota. Koppi entered the service in July, 1942, and went overseas September, 1944.


Purple Heart of Pfc. John Koppi

Pfc. John A. Koppi, age 19, was missing in action in Germany since November 20, 1944 serving with the 406th Infantry Regiment of the 102nd Infantry Division. A little time later Pfc. Koppi’s parents received a Western Union Telegram reporting their son John Koppi being Killed in Action. Pfc. John A. Koppi was buried in the USA.
